It definitely helps them visualize how much time we have in the morning and how quickly they need to finish: eating, brush teeth, put on shoes, etc. The toddler enjoys the animal pictures, and the big kids like pictures of themselves. The full version of this app I would give 4 stars, the songs are a little cheesey, but fortunately can be muted. The app comes with a screen lock and a piano key chime for audio support. You can set the timer for up to 60 minutes in increments of five. The app is a no-frills countdown timer that helps teach the concepts of time. I also think it’s ridiculous that you can’t share in app purchases, but there isn’t a way I have found to purchase the entire app from the App Store. Buddy’s Timer is perfectly suited to children with autism.
I don’t know why it worked when I downloaded it to my iPhone but not my new ipad. I was disappointed to find though that when I downloaded the app from “my purchases” it is only the lite version that works, with 1 song and 2 generic pictures. I recently decided to add it to my new iPad as the old ipad is getting a little sketchy. Later I decided to add the app to my iPhone, and was able to download from the purchased apps section. The kids loved it, so I went ahead and upgraded to all the music and pics, so I could choose pics of my kids from the camera roll. I purchased this on our family’s old iPad to use to help the kids get ready in a timely manner for school in the mornings.
